Bird in Hand is a family owned winery which began in 1997 with the goal of producing wines to match the world’s finest.
At the winery, sustainable practices are employed with minimalistic use of chemicals.
Influence of Gulf of St. Vincent and Mount Lofty ranges places its 80 acres of vines at a unique geographical location which makes it ideal to produce cool-climate wines
Produces Shiraz along with Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc and Riesling wines and Italian grape varietals such as Montepulciano, Nero d’avola, and Arneis.
About Chief Winemaker – Kym Milne
Kym Milne is currently the chief winemaker of Bird in Hand. He has 30 years of experience in wine Industry. Previously has been Chief Winemaker at Villa Maria Winery, New Zealand from 1983 to 1992. In year 1991, qualified Master of Wine’ becoming the second Australian to do so. He joined Bird in Hand in 2003 and named Australian Winemaker of the year by Winestate Magazine in 2014 and 2015.

Nest Egg – Wines of this range take the time to develop all its characters. Its powerful structure can be attributed to the use of French Oak.
Bird in Hand – These wines can both be enjoyed as a young wine or after maturation.
Two in the Bush – This range is for casual drinkers to be enjoyed with simple meals.

Bird in Hand Winery is consistently proving itself each year winning awards and earning recognition. In 2016 alone, Bird in hand wines won a good number of Gold medals in numerous domestic and international wine competitions like New Zealand International Wine Show, Royal Queensland Wine Show, Melbourne International Wine Show, London International Wine Challenge, San Francisco International Wine Show and Royal Perth Wine Show.
